Time Change....

I made these posts about time change on Facebook:

Mommy likes this time change, and I do too.  Mommy is actually letting me take the nap she usually cuts short because it falls at 5pm, and that's when she gets off work.

I have been asleep since 3:15!  Mommy loves this 1.5 hour nap since I only take 20-30 minute catnaps.  Of course I conned her into letting me sleep on her....

The next morning I made this post:

Shouldn't have let him take that long of a nap so close to bedtime!

He went down easily enough at 7, woke at 9:30, and I fed him, but then he wouldn't go back to sleep.

I then rocked him in the glider, fell asleep, and woke at midnight. Put him down in the crib, and crawled into bed with a crick in my neck. He woke at 12:45, I rocked him, and was back in bed by 1:00.

He woke at 1:30, I rocked him, prayed he would sleep a little longer, and was back in bed by 2:00.

He woke at 3:30, I gave in and fed him, rocked him, went to put him in the crib and his eyes popped open like those dolls whose eyes open when you tilt their heads. Rock, rock, rock. Crib. Eyes. Repeat.

At 4, I put him down awake, and crawled back into bed. 4:15 he starts screaming bloody murder. Inconsolable unless I am holding him.

At this point I haven't pumped in 8.5 hours. PAIN!

I give in and bring him to my bed. He lies there awake while I get a few more minutes of sleep.

My 4:30 alarm (to put him in his crib and go pump) either didn't go off or I slept through it. I woke at 5:25.

He is asleep with all his cuteness, and I desperately need to pump. He lets me pick him up and take home to his crib without waking, but the second that soggy diapered butt hit the mattress his eyes peep open. Pat, pat, pat.

And he's down!

Go to the kitchen and get ready to pump....

Crying.

Baby comes out to the living room with me and we cuddle in the chair while I pump. Baby is all snuggled in two blankets up to his chin, while I have my bare toes sticking out. I don't dare move him because he just fell asleep!

My toes feel like they are freezing off since we still don't have heat, and I wiggle them to try to put them under the baby's blanket.

Baby wakes up....

Pumping ends WAY early because baby is now hungry.

Moral of this story?

Daylight savings time is evil!
